Game 39 Recap: BRUINS 2 BUF 4 HAD TO HAPPEN EVENTUALLY

They say you can't win 'em all. The Bruins didn't. Here's how:

Matt Ellis and Thomas Vanek scored in the first 6 minutes. Kessel responded when Savard gave it to him on the powerplay:

1-2. You're holding out hope for a lot more Bruins scoring, or for the Buffalo defense to be less suffocating.

Matt Ellis scores again to start the second. Shawn Thornton responds with a kick fake and wrister from the point:

2-3. A pretty goal by Thornton. You're thinking there's still a lot of hockey left, but that bad feeling is gnawing at you.

Paul Gaustad scores. 2-4.

The third period is better because Buffalo doesn't score. The Bruins fail to score, as well.

Game.

Loss.

It was bound to happen eventually.

Record: 29-6-4
Home: 14-2-1
L10: 9-1-0
January: 1-1-0
vs. BUF 2-2-1
GO BRUINS!
