VOTING TIME!

And I'm not talking about the All-Joke Game.

Jack Edwards is up against Bob Cole in the tournament of announcers.  For your consideration:

Oh, and Stanley Cup of Chowder over at Hugging Harry Reynolds is in the Iron Ref finals.  Vote for him, too.

But really, Jack Edwards.  Together, we can beat Bob Cole.  8th seed from USA vs. Canadian top seed.....

VOTE JACK EDWARDS

Ok, folks, I've been waiting for this day for a while.  Jack "Save by Thomas" Edwards...

Wait, hold on.   That's Jack "SAVE! BY! THOMAS!" Edwards is an eighth seed in Puck the Media's NHL Tournament of Announcers.  Voting starts RIGHT NOW. and lasts only 24 hours.  So if you're reading this at 5:30 pm on tuesday or later, it may already be too late.

Chris Cuthbert eats babies.  VOTE FOR EDWARDS!  Let's stuff the crap out of that ballot box.

Love him or hate him, Edwards is always an exciting guy to hear.  Here is proof, from the Dallas Game:

(dafoomie, you make my blog like 10 times better)

There's a reason that NESN has a "Jack Edwards quote of the Week." So GO VOTE!

Game 4: Bruins @ Senators

First of all, Vote for the Bruins! Icethetics is having another tournament, but the first link will take you directly to the only poll you need. That said, we've got a GameDay Post/thread to take care of.

@ Ottawa Senators (2-1-1)

The last of four away games that have so far left the Bruins 1-1-1
to start the season.

Notes:
  • Chara used to play for Ottawa. That's where he ragdolled McCabe:
  • Savard has gotten 2 goals each in the last 2 games. Time to step up, other folks.

  • Stephane Yelle has yet to take a shot on goal this season. Hockey Reference doesn't have time on ice, but I remember seeing him out there. I guess as he's getting older, he's taking fewer shots per game. I'm sponsoring that page. Nice.
  • The Bruins are 11-11 in goals through three games, Ottawa is 14-11 through 4.
  • The Bruins and the Senators were the two teams to compete in the first NHL-only Stanley Cup Finals, in 1927.
  • Daniel Alfredsson had arthoscopic surgery on his knee last week, but still played in last night's game.
  • Martin "Darth Goalie" Gerber will be in net tonight. I was (and still am) hoping that we face Auld tonight.
  • Lines: Fernandez in for Boston, Senators keep the same lines as last night. If Fluto didn't do his job, this would be a lot harder.

  • Bish says Ryder and Savard are a dynamic duo, accounting for half the Bruins points so far. Best quote is from Ryder: "It took a while for me to get used to trying to get open for him, and I wasn't expecting the pass, and all of a sudden he wouldn't look, and I would be there." Like this:

  • Go Red Sox!

  • Ottawa had a super-strong start last year, and then completely fell apart. We beat them to clinch a playoff berth back on April 4th, the 81st game of the year and the last game in Ottawa:

Logos, Icethethics

So, I'm thinking of doing gameday previews for this upcoming season. I've started to look around for bruins (and other teams) logos. It brought me to a former favorite of mine: Icethetics (formerly NHL Tournament of Logos). If you were reading hockey blogs last offseason, this was certainly one of them. It was the best source for information on the RBK Edge jerseys back then, and they were having a tournament. The Habs logo was selected as the best logo of the NHL, which I disagree with. Then again, I think my red sox "yankees suck" hatred has bled over into "habs suck" hatred, especially after last year. Canadiens fans are for the most part quite nice people, I've found, with the exception being ones that have been attacked by bruins fans. They are really annoying when they're infesting your arena, though. I could go on an on about the habs@bruins experience, and I'm sure I will soon.

They're having a center ice tournament right now of which teams logo with a line through it plus the name of the arena around it is best. Here's the Center Ice Bracket. The Bell Centre and the TD Banknorth Garden are currently squaring off like Shawn Thornton and...Komisarek? Some other hab? I don't know, they're all bad guys anyhow. Regardless, go to Icethetics and vote for the Bruins!

I also was looking through their old stuff, and found the Bruins "Guitar" (Banjo?) picture that has already burnt itself into your brain. It came from a series that someone was trying to do, the first part of which can be found here on the old site. I didn't see much beyond parts one and two, but that may be because they switched sites.
